![]() ![]() ![]() If the brakes are applied quickly and forcefully after the warning, but AEB still detects a potential collision, the system automatically increases braking force. If a collision risk is detected, the system will provide a warning to the driver by a warning light and audible alarm. To calculate distances, AEB uses a radar sensor located behind the lower grille of the front bumper. The most frequent cause of fault is due to a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor.ĭescription: The Nissan Sentra Automatic Emergency Braking system (AEB) aids the driver when a risk of a forward collision with a vehicle ahead in same lane. The brake systemĬontinues to operate normally but without anti-lock assistance. What to Do: If an ABS malfunction occurs, the anti-lock function is no longer operational. ABS prevents the wheels from locking during harsh braking, which in turn allows for greater control of the vehicle. If the light illuminates while driving, it indicates an ABS malfunction. Red warning lights are the most urgent and can potentially result in vehicle damage and/or risk to vehicle occupant safety.ĭescription: This is the Nissan Sentra anti-lock braking system (ABS) warning light. It’s advisable to deal with amber / yellow warning lights as soon as possible and red warning lights immediately. The local garage is trying hard but I think that there is an engineering design problemn at mmanufacturing that hads to be addressed. Now we’ll take a look at the Nissan Sentra dashboard warning lights that may come on when driving. this time they changed the manual light rheostat that is functional at night but since all else shows no faults they don't know if it will work.they have suggested that the next time it occurs to pull the car over and see if the full headlights or the daytime rtunning lights are on as well as covering up the light sensor and then uncovering to see what happens. Just got the car back after 5 days in the shop. When I stopped at a rest stop in Ohio, I turned the car off and the remainder of the trip - about 2 hrs was fine. Anyway that was a problem for about an hour. Difficult on the PA turnpike where one wants to keep it at 65 to 70. Driving on 2-22 to Ohio from the Pgh PA area.in bright sunlight - not a cloud in the sky.the lights dimmed so one couldn't see the entertainment screen or the digital speed reading. I will get the same results - no error codes.- it is working like it should. I have had the problem on my 2012 equinox.been to the dealer three times in the past - and 4th time today. Good luck trying to get your dealer to believe you that something is not right. Because the dealer doesn't get a warning light or a code thrown at them then all they will tell you is it is performing as it should be. But try telling your dealer that and all you will get is, "your car is performing as it should, nothing wrong." And I quote. There has to be some sort of shorting out going on somewhere in the system or the sensor is not functioning properly. But the same thing has happened to my radio screen and DIC screen where the sensor kicked on my headlights but the screens dimmed so bad that you can not read anything on them. No, not the normal dimming that occurs when the sensor kicks in because it's overcast or you are driving through a dark area that has many trees or something. Well, at least I don't feel like I'm crazy now since I've been trying to explain to folks on here on another thread that it is happening with my 2011 equinox.
